The software
One system, from the booking to the balance sheet
Most club platforms cover the flying and hand the money to somebody else. FlightWay carries a flight all the way through: booked, flown, logged, priced, billed, collected and posted to the books, without anything being retyped in between.
The five areas
Each of these is a page of its own, because each is a job somebody in the club actually owns. The scheduler is used by everyone, the maintenance side by one or two people, and the books by the treasurer who is usually doing it at a kitchen table on a Sunday.
How a single flight moves through it
This is the whole argument for one system rather than four, so it is worth following one flight end to end.
| Step | What the member does | What the software does |
|---|---|---|
| Booking | Picks the aeroplane and a time | Refuses the booking if it overlaps another, if the aircraft is grounded by a critical squawk, or if it is blocked for maintenance |
| Preflight | Checks the aircraft page on a phone | Shows meters, fuel, open squawks, and what inspection is due next |
| Shutdown | Enters hobbs and tach | Works out the hours, prices them at that aircraft’s rate on the right basis, and posts a charge as a balanced journal entry |
| Something is wrong | Raises a squawk before walking away | Notifies maintenance, and if it is critical, grounds the aircraft and pulls it off the schedule |
| Month end | Nothing | Drafts every statement from the charges and dues already posted, waits for the treasurer to approve, then sends and collects |
| The books | Nothing | Already done. The charge that billed the flight is the same journal entry the balance sheet is built from |
Nothing in that sequence involves exporting a CSV, retyping a number, or reconciling two systems against each other. That is the only reason to have the accounting inside rather than beside.
The parts that are not a screen
It installs like an app, and a native one is coming
Members add FlightWay to the home screen from the browser — iPhone, Android or a laptop in the clubhouse — and it behaves like any other app, full screen and one tap from wherever they left off. A native iPhone and iPad app is in build and will carry the whole system, not a corner of it.
It works with no signal
A flight logged out of coverage is queued on the phone and sent when the aeroplane is back near a tower. Hangars are made of metal, and a ramp is a bad place to need four bars.
Sign in without a password
Members sign in with a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello) or a link emailed to them. No club password anyone can share, forget or reuse from another site.
It tells people things
In-app, email and push notifications, per member and per category. A grounding squawk and a failed payment can also go by SMS as an add-on.
Documents live with the thing
Insurance certificates, signed logbook pages, W-9s and receipts attach to the aircraft, the squawk or the member they belong to, not to a shared drive nobody can find.
Roles, not one big admin login
Member, treasurer, admin and maintenance see different things. Billing permission and dues liability are separate ideas, so an A&P can serve the club without being billed like a flying member.
What FlightWay deliberately is not
It is a club ledger, not a general accounting package. There is no payroll, no sales tax engine, no bank feed, no budgeting module. The journal export is the CPA’s on-ramp and it stays a first-class feature.
Maintenance and AD tracking are a tracking aid, not the legal record. The signed logbook entry and the IA’s signature remain the artefacts of authority, and the software says so rather than implying otherwise.
See it running, on a real club
The screenshots on the home page are the live app with a month of flying and its books closed. Ask and we will walk you through the running system instead of a slide deck.
